Here We Are In Season Two
This weblog has been on blogspot since January 2004. The original reason I put it here was because Michael Marchetti said derogatory comments about my wife, of which I have subpeonable proof of that fact from two witnesses. If you want to spout off and correct crap, have a ball, but the bottom line is that Tuesday Morning Incorporated is an unethically run company and the main beneficiaries are the top officers and Madison-Dearborn. Even Tuesday Morning's own bios states that Madison-Dearborn has owned it since 1991 and nothing has changed to make that statement any different. If you are so brainwashed that you have to leave your family to pursue a career at Tuesday Morning, and call the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer by his first name, you are not someone I would "trust" in any situation.
This blog has taken on a life of it's own because I have the hutzpah to speak my mind. I don't mince words and I research most I state, or I go to people who have more experience and answers than me. Some things I get wrong, but not enough wrong to say, oh, I better not post any longer. I stated in the beginning I am relentless and I am not going anywhere.
If you want a web site where Tuesday Morning managers can swap tips, ask Tuesday Morning's IT department why they don't have a Virtual Private Network for Tuesday Morning employees. Tell them that all other companies have that and they take the good with the bad comments there. Bet TM would never do something like that because they don't want to hear or see what their employees think. They never listened to their employees before, why would they start now. Investor owned and operated...money talks.

So, why don't you sue him (M.M.)for personal slander?
Just an odd thought.
Don't worry though, "what goes around comes around." He probably is finding out just how it feels lately to have people say bad things about him as well, because I have never heard anything positive about him. Oh.....only once when I was in a store in California, and asked the Manager, "so how's things going here" I was not even trying to "pry, or get any dirt" on ther estore in that town, it was just a general, friendly salutation. To which she replied, like a robot, I might add....... "oh you know how it is, we just have to do like Mr. Marchetti, says and just do our jobs".....I thought I would VOMIT right there.
"Sir, yes, SIR!!!" WE salute you Mr. Marchetti!
Because he's gets more sympathy as a victim & it’s easier to just complain than really do anything about it.

just an odd thought for an odd man, Mike that is. He is the most un professional human in the retail world. So glad he finally got rid of his wrinkled, worn out khaki pants and faded pull over shirts, and got his hair cut. He makes fun of others without looking in the mirror. I can honestly say people who has met him (that I know of) respects him. He thinks he is the coolest dude making his lousy music and playing what ever he wants without a worry that some of the music is offensive. No wonder there are less customers shopping, we offended too many just with the fowl language in the music.
I HATE that CD that we are forced to play. We were going to complain in Dallas, about it once, but our Regional WARNED us in a begging way,for us not to mention it at all because they said that "It's Marchetti's baby, and he hand picked the music himself" which really told me something about him and his "taste" for music, really BAD music I will say. I have personally called corporate and complained about the cuss words in the various songs myself because this is a retail store, not a bar, (that is trying to go UPSCALE...right!) but nothing really changes. PLUS, I have given the phone number out for corporate to scores of customers that have complained to me about it.I've told htem I can't do anything about it. FINALLY they cut that "F" word out of one song....but left the "B.S." word in that Pink Floyd song, duh! Not counting all that other stupid stuff like Billy Crystal doing that impression from the Wizard of Oz....oh my gosh!!! What is this place crazy? You go from Broadway plays to some Zombie, song, then on to some "Sunday Morning side walk, Lord, I wish that I was stoned" What is that all about? Yes, unfortantly we know all the words by now. Ugh, sick, I know.
Yesterday, someone was at the line was asking one of the clerks "is that Nancy Sinatra singing" overhearing them....I answered for the clerk...."yep, that's her in all her 1960's glory, sorry, this place plays a funky mix of music" and they laughed and got a kick out of that. I used to ROLLER SKATE to that song when I was little kid. AND you play that in a store??? That is supposed to make ladies want to buy stuff or is that to torture them? This music is weird....it's anything from Stevie Nicks, to the Rolling Stones, (Symphony for the DEVIL??? Come on guy! GET IT OFF THE C.D. we hate it) then mix in Johnny Cash, and Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel,& Judy Garland. It's like just the craziest mix of music and personalities, you've ever heard. Like "Ava Maria????" then some cussword song, then "Send in the Clowns?" How depressing this all is...pick some kind of a lane would you???
40's, 50's, 60's, and more, all kinds of generations all mixed up but not even the good music of that time, just like the crappiest stuff a person could hear in those years. It's just a really gross mix. I absolutly love music, and can listen to various kinds, but this music is tortuous. We are all sick of it, PLUS it doesn't repeat itself every 10 hours like they say, it's more often than that. The CD has glitches in it too, so when it hits this one spot where it plays some songs, then 20 minutes later it plays the SAME set again, we've timed it. YUCK!!! It just makes your head swim. We all hate it and I might add.....one day "these boots are made for walking" will be me and my employees theme song.
We do appreciate the fact that you've finally added in some music, but can't someone do something that is sane? Not that Marchetti MIX? Heaven help us if we have to hear this much longer. We all are happy when the Christmas music comes on.
It changes things up a bit.
Oh yeah....our personal fav song? Yep, that cheesy Dean Martin, one..."I'm Going to Houston."
PLEASE! Make me puke~~!
And the worst of it is that now here I am in Dallas, (at the new mgrs. meeting) and I have to look at the stupid little man when he comes to our training store...wonder what stupid things will emerge from his mouth. He thinks he is "Mr. Wonderful".
Looks like a cross between a cave man and Jack Black.
I never undestood why my new manager went to Dallas for a whole week. She left on a Friday and came back the following Monday. When she came back no matter what I did all by myself was nothing to her. Nothing good came out from her mouth about how well we did while she was there. I never understood her. Some managers really understand the good work the assistant managers do for them while they are out but some take advantage of the situation to take extra days off . I will like to know what really you learn out there because after her trip she came evil. What are they saying about our injuries? Are they going to change something for the rest of you that still working? Thank you new manager!
The Assistant Managers, in MOST cases, never get praised for the fact that they can do EVERYTHING the Senior Store Manger, does. They have to be able to run that store in the case that the Manager, has to be out, regardless of the amount of time, or situation.
When the S.S. Manager, is gone, on vacation, or say they go to "Tuesday Morning" managers camp, no one sees what the Assistant Managers really can do. Fortunatly for me, I HAD a great Manager that did appreciate me. We worked as a "team" and we ran the store that way, we had great employees. My Manager, would always bring me back something of some sort of gift to show her appreciation, to me for doing a "Great job of running the store in her absence" from where ever she went. Even when she would go to Dallas. Also, she would also give me a portion of her bonus (can you believe that one!!)because she would say "I couldn't have gotten this without your help, I couldn't have ran this store alone".... and now she is gone. She was a person who was very strong and had good work values, and knew how to manage people, she could "make it happen" no matter what came our way, and importantly, she had been with the company for many, many, years, but even she could only take so much abuse from Corporate and those in charge of her. It gets overwhelming and wearisome in Management here. The disorganization alone is astounding, and you have to plan, and unplan, then replan, then undo it all constantly. Just the dollars wasted on that alone is absurd. You set then unset, do a schedule, then undo it 4 times a week because your trucks are canceled and so on and so forth. You all know what I am talking about.
Finally my boss, found a better job, making more money, less responsibility, WAY better benefits, and NO MANUAL labor. HURRAH for HER!!!!! I am so glad for her. She deserves this.
We will see what the "new" manager will be like because I will not accept the "Sr. Store Manager" position since I've first hand seen how she was treated and what she was up against. Why would I want to put myself in harms way like that? I'm no fool. I am sure that no new manager will compare to her. I was at least "apppreciated" for who I was and what I did by this person and not taken advantage of by them. I was treated fairly. Even if Corporate didn't/doesn't care about me, thank GOD, I worked under someone for several years who did care. There are/WERE ethical people out there in Management, but I am afraid, we are all being ran off because we won't lie, and cheat, and cut our dedicated employees, out of the schedules, because "they make too much money."
After all....like someone told me....."you can hire cheaper, more productive people." Thank you Tuesday Morning, for your dedication to your SEASONED employees who STUCK with you through the years. Now you cast them all aside? That is why everyone in Management leaves, we all know our days are numbered.
We will all eventually leave, because we have to. There is no dedication to YOUR employees on YOUR part, yet you expect them to be dedicated to you. Re: "Code of Conduct," and a million other etc. etc. that we have to sign.
Many of us have good work ethics, and morals. You ask more and more and more of us and give nothing back to us in return. We would like some kind of appreciation from Corporate. But it isn't going to happen and we know it, because many of us held out hoping things would "get better" but they haven't. Things only get worse I promise you. I see this everyday first hand. It's not pretty and it's not fair.
It's sad you have to loose people like us, beccause it's another company's GAIN.
Our personal favorite weird TM song is that odd "Phantom of the Opera" scary one. It is SO out of place when it plays in the store. WE are all like "what the heck is that" when it comes on. It is too weird.
