Please Respond
I see. If I dish out dirt you all respond but when I redirect to the real reason for this blog...to organize and stop the Workmans Compensation scam from continuing...you all have nothing to say. I suggested a union, one that wouldn't take a lot of your money at first so that you could organize without a big expense, like you would have with an AFL-CIO affiliated union. No response from that as far as I could tell. I suggested an attorney that is schooled in Workmans Comp cases if you were denied WC. Got one response for that one...they said it didn't help because the attorney evidently had no experience with WC and he just walked away from the case. The previous post was the second time I've asked for you all to place your stories in the Comment section of this blog. It doesn't matter where you Comment because it e-mails me with a copy and I move them to a Personal Folder. And trust me, this is the way to bring about "change" at Tuesday Morning. When they finally realize it costs less to have a safe system in place for stock work than to fight off dozen's of lawsuits charging discrimination, unfair labor practices, unsafe working conditions, etc....get the picture?

Sorry everyone has been busy QUITING their jobs at Tuesday Morning, so no one has had time to write anything. WE are in emergency modes of coping, trying to man the stores, because we are at such a loss of manpower. Soon it will be more. Many of us are TIRED of trying to hang on and change things, there is no changes to come. These people aren't moving onto trying to fix the issues that concern us all. It's their way or the highway. So lots of us are heading out. We are tired of being abused and being made to pay for what the Corporate HEADS have done in error. This is all due to their lack of compassion on their employees, and their own selfish and greedy WANTS, not needs. And our leaving is Not based on "our wants".....it's based on "needs" all some of us needed was decent wages, and a safe work enviroment to work in, BREAKS so we could eat our lunch, and be able to go to the bathroom. We only needed to feel and to be treated human. There are laws but the laws aren't helping the employees at this point, because NO one will stand up for their rights. This isn't possible at Tue. Morning. The employees, are too scared of the repercusions if they complain too hard, or if they press charges of some sort. Because they view us as some sort of work mules. This is EXPECTED of us because we are common "idiots" I've heard that more than once out of a higher ups mouth. But lookout....the days of IDIOT employees are gone. They are now wiser and smarter, regardless of what you may think. The days of the employees taking whatever is dished out on us about over. We are tired and we are disgusted, we are learning our rights, and we will stand on them. And we have learned this.. "The world does NOT revolve around Tuesday Morning." Half of all Americans (and more) don't even know what a "Tuesday Morning store" is or has in it. So we are telling them. They are CORPORATE stores that abuse their employees, in many ways, they hold low paying dangerous, jobs. 90% or more of these positions are filled by WOMEN, who are expected to work like donkeys, they clean up feces, unprotected in the stores, they clean up vomit, unprotected whiel they do it, they deal with HARSH customer service conditions, sometimes even with CORPORATE HDQ, they weekely are unloading trucks, in the RAIN, SNOW, HOT and COLD, depending on the weather and the season, they build shelves and moving large shelving units and products by themselves. Hauling stock all over the place, and out to people's cars without the proper gear needed to accomplish these things. They unassemble huge shelving units, when needed, and worst of all they are forced to basically to suck up to their higher ups, Managers, Regionals, whoever. You will do what they say or else. Now the time has come. These women who had no self esteems left, because the company store took it away, have banded together and realized their self worth. And they are leaving and finding better jobs, and better paying positions without the torment of hard manual labor involved, and they are leavig the company in DROVES and nothing can stop this avalanche of employees from kicking them in their butts in Dallas. In their BIG, FAT wallets. Because that is where it will hit. Women are consumers, women are stockholders. Women do have power. Take it back ladies and gentlemen, too. There are many Male, managers that face all the same issues listed above. Run while you have the strengthm run while you are uninjured and you have a bit of sanity left. IF not....they will suck the life out of us all. 8When they have no one to unload their precious truck loads, and remodel their precious stores that they swear they "care" about and really don't because they never answer our calls or e-mails when we call them or write them with problems....they only care about the $$$$ numbers we hit in our stores. Not the bodies working in the stores helping to hit those numbers. They don't care about the people in the stores that WORK in the stores. When the bell tolls one day, then they will listen. But it will be too late then."Too little, too late." They should have really cared when they had the oppertunity, when we were all crying out begging for their help. Asking for more payroll, so we wouldn't kill ourselves and could actually serve the public. The hopes we had, have all been dashed. We now see and realize, they don't really care. Just enough, to cover their own hides, but not enough to see our families taken care off, or to see us become healthy again, once we get hurt on our jobs, or to see us have enough help on trucks so that one of us won't be hurt. Those hopes are gone.Reality has now set in and we have come to the conclusion this is not going to change. We have begged, we have pleaded, and nothing. Now it's time to take control of our lives again and to dream again and to move on to greener pastures.
They are out there.
We aren't fools any longer.
We need to get this blog out to the public, press, etc. How do you do this? This blog is not reaching enough employees. I am certain that the public is not aware we exist. I will not believe that the public would allow the situation to go on. There has to be away. So many times the cry for info about WC & abuse has gone out. This is why I believe that the employees are not seeing this. A case has been made. Just waiting for a few more injuries to come forward for it to be nailed. I can only think that the injured did not see this blog.
I know everyone in our store knows about the BLOG and their relatives and some customers. Many know about this blog site, in our state even. We have talked it up, but there isn't much more we can do. The other STORES and their employees,in other states are the ones that don't know. We tell them when we can. Some aren't open to the BLOG because they are "scared" and we know it. They don't know their rights. They can't fire you for reading or responding to a stinking BLOG....we have the right to "FREE" speech. Plus you can share your news/information without leaving your name, or identifing features. Nothing illegal is happening here. Information is shared, nothing that is confidential or a detriment to the company or it's holdings. This is all well known facted information that we all see daily where we work. The people that respond to Ed's BLOG are people that are frustrated and seeking consulation, and are trying to figure out what they can do to "right" things that are "wrong," in many cases we can do nothing, but quit our jobs. Which many are doing right now at warp speed, and it's only going to get worse. Many are hurt and are seeking ways to get help, because they have come to a DEAD END at Tuesday Morning. Which is ridiculous, because they PAY for workmans comp.....so why don't they let the people make claims? It's not Tuesday Morning, in fact it is Gallagher Bassett, the insurance company for Tuesday Morning. They are PAID by Tuesday Morning Inc. to carry the "workmans comp insurance policy" for the employees. So since it is already paid for, why won't they allow these people to make legitimate claims when they are hurt? Tuesday Morning INC. NEEDS to put the pressure on their insurance company to allow their employees to be paid for their claims when they are injured. That is the fault of T.M. they do not BACK their employees. Most people just get some comfort, to read and KNOW that they are not the "only ones" that see these things and injustices and can do nothing about it. We thought, it was "just us" then we read this site and realized, "they do this to everyone in every store, in every state," it is NOT an isolated problem. This company has legitimate BAD employee relations. They are doing NOTHING to solve the problems their employees are faced with. IF everyone banded together, there wouldn't be such fear. They put this "corporate" fear into you when you first are hired on. "Corporate is watching, corporate sends in secret shoppers to see if we have been naughty or nice, clerks, and managers" corporate, this, corporate that. But corporate, does not have the payroll, or manpower to even accomplish organized tasks. So, why is everyone in such fear. Stand up for yourselves, and take your breaks, and if you work overtime, get PAID for it. Don't punch out like I used to have to do and put it on "next weeks" time card. It's ILLEGAL. Don't let people do things to you that are not legal, nor ethical. If you are harrased, turn them in. There is a 1-800 number on a poster in every break room, supposedly. If you get hurt, turn the claim in. I have been hurt various times and never turned it in, due to untold pressures, now I suffer because of it. Those days are over, we now stand up for what is right. We are Americans and we have rights, even as workers, and if they don't like it. They can shut their doors because it is what is right and fair, and Americans are sick and tired of corporate injustices.Customers will not buy from companies that are jacking around their employees. Employees need to get a clue and stop staying in the shadows. Get the BLOG site out to those that are searching for help and answers. If nothing else, at least they can "vent" their issues and frustrations. Something you can NOT do with the Regionals, and the Zones.
I know for a fact that at two stores they know about the blog because of me and I am very proud of. I know for a fact that one employee(sales associate) at my store is injured but because she has gone too many times to the company doctor due to at work injures because she is a very hard worker and does a lot of work that the males should be doing and are not because they are lazy and slow she does it to keep the regional happy and to be able to pay her rent. My new manager read everybodies files when she came in last year and she even made comments about this particular employee-(she gets injured too many times)- But guess what? she puts her on this situations every day too! I guess she is waiting for the next injury to happen to get rid of her finally. FYI, I am injured and receiving cero from WC also.
Thank you for responding. This is what I need. If you want to give more details about your injury/injuries, please do so. Please feel free to give what your injuy is and how TM/WC is treating you. This is so important. You have no idea. This is ready to go. There are so many more injured that we don't know about. TM cannot be trusted to give all this info when asked.
One of the reasons some of us do not go to see a doctor is lack of transportation or relatives living close to us . My manager used the 48 hour deadline to get the drug test done to try to get rid of my friend. She went by bus all by herself and had to lose a day of work and barely could not see from one eye(eye injury) and I could not give her a ride because I had to work and for her is not good either because she depends on this job to pay for her rent. The company doctor took care of her but ,to what price? One time one employee got hurt while assembling a bird bath and my other manager not this one let me to take him to the emergency room (same place injury) I also understand that is Zurich insurance not Gallager Basset anymore.
Maybe depending on what part of the country you are living and working in, the insurance company changes?? I wouldn't think so. We do have Gallagher Bassett, I know that for fact, because the new "claims" packet was sent to us not so long ago and we had to go through it all in detail so we know what to do incase of an emergency, etc. etc. Not that anyone that gets hurt in our store ever claims it because most of us don't. Even management. We work hurt. Like the people said earlier, "you have to pay the rent," but I think that most of us are now realizing thi fact "at what expense do I keep doing this dangerous work?" We can do less dangerous tasks at other companies and make MORE money. We are all reconsidering and rethinking this because of some recent events that have taken place in our local stores in the areas and we are seeing that is is not worth it if they paid us a million dollars a year. Oh....I mean if they paid us the C.E.O. and the C.O.O.'s salaries. Someone is getting rich off of our backs and our unclaimed injuries. This is stupid on our parts and we will remain "victims" if we don't do something about it. Tuesday Morning is afraid of people telling the truth. They are paranoid, about people seeing and hearing about the REAL Tuesday Morning. The life we endure at work. But if they were upfront and honest, they wouldn't force people to work hurt, or to worry if they are going to loose their jobs over legitimate Workers Comp claims. If you feel you can't go to your boss and even report that you are hurt. Then something is WRONG with that picture. Many of us have learned to work hurt, because we don't want to appear as weenies or babies and don't want to be drug tested for no apparent reason. NO one in my store uses any illegal drugs by the way. Also, some injuries can't be tracked or traced to T.M. so that is hard to prove as well.....like the person who wrote once said they have some tendentious type injuires from "the repetitious movements associated with opening boxes" I have that too just a varied form. It's documented with my family Dr. but what can I do about that at this point. Nothing. Also.....what about people with the carpel tunnel type thins. T.M. tries to prove these things are or were "pre-exising". I know a Manager that they push that off on. So they wiggle out of their claims one way or another and you see this happen to people you know and work with so you just say "what difference can I make" and you work hurt. But again, we are all reconsidering what is all his worth in the long run regarding our health and welfare. Fun, part time, job? I think not. Torturous, more than part time, unfulfilling, job, because your an honest person, that doesn't steal from your store like others have, and you pay your bills? A bit more closer to the truth. What says some of you?
People don't want to do this BLOG thing because they are imtimidated and scared they will be found out and then get fired. They need their hours and money so they won't spill the beans. There is much to be told though. Get the word out and people will get over their fears if they think they can get some help. But is there really any help? What kind of help can we get when its all said and done? Isn't it just best to give up and find other work? Maybe that is what they want. Then they can get their own Tue morning Clones in there.
I found this BLOG site purely by accident. No one told me about it. I was just looking out of frustration for something, anything, relating to information on Tuesday Morning, hoping there was something to tell me things were going to get better or that things were going to change. Anything I could find I read.I found this site and other things through various search engines only because I wanted to try to find some way to FIX some things in my store.
I found the other website first, the "Ego Happy Tuesday Morning" one much to my surprise, I read how people all over the U.S.A. were having the exact same problems we were. Bad truck situations, bad management situations, injuries, no payroll, bad store conditions, etc. etc. I printed off the website and it ended up being like 17 pages. I was freaked out. I showed most everyone in my store, especially the managers. We were happy to know it wasn't "just us" but then we were depressed to know.....it's not going to stop happening or change. That this was a company wide problem and Dallas, was addressing it and sure not fixing anything. They had to know about the problems too because everyone else did.We saw that nothing was changing anywhere else n the nation either. I guess the only satisfaction here is that we can voice how we feel and get it off our chests and not have to carry that load. It doesn't change anything though. You have to decide to let the company hang itself (which was, and is hard for me I want to fix things and save the employees jobs)because they don't want to see this thing fixed. They want to suck your blood and use you up then dump you if you get hurt or rock their boat too much. Either you go down with the ship and drown, or you get out. We in my location have been making seperate plans to get out at various times. There is no other way because we have all held out, management is frustrated and leaving and some have left already, and now so are the regular employees because the bosses are all leaving one by one, and the employees are depressed and sad. Their choices have made us all make decisions to leave because they realized their efforts to seek answers and solutions were in vain and it was no use to continue to try to keep on doing the backbreaking and nerve racking work they were doing for less pay than they can make somewheres else. We all agree with their decisions. Who can blame them?
IF TUESDAY MORNING had "PETA," come in and survey how they treat HUMANS. They would protest the stores. You want to talk about the "unethical treatment of animals" why doesn't some organization address the "unfair and unethical treatment of HUMANS???" This place is crazy. Where are all the "watchdog" organizations that are in place to help US, the"people?" We are America's workers. Are there any in this country, or are they all set up for animals. Which we are fast becoming. Animals have more protection than humans do in the workplace. People are treated like animals at Tuesday Morning. If the public KNEW of how we were/are treated. There would be a huge outcry.
Thank you for giving a voice to the overworked underpaid TM employee. The end is finally near for me. After giving 6 years of my life to TM I was told that my store is closing. not making enough money. The sad part is that I was transferred here from another store 6 months before. Regional transferred me to bring in a higher pd mgr for my store. I was told that she made too much money to take the smaller store and since I was a single parent it would be closer to my home and less work.So what does that say about me? They couldn't afford to give me a raise so send a higher pd mgr(younger too) to take the store that I had been running for 2 1/2 years and send me to another. It seems that the more you need the job the more bs you are given. I was told not to tell the employees that the store is closing. How fair is that? I've decided that this is a blessing in disguise. Who knows maybe I can get a real job and work 45 hours a week instead of 65.
