Yo, Anonymous!!!
I was going to respond to the Anonymous trying to egg me on but I'm more mature than that. This is about Tuesday Morning and not about Ed. I just stated the original reason for the blog in hopes that someone would see why it's gotten this much life out of it. I could never hope to change Tuesday Morning or any other corporation for that matter...you all just have too much money to push your agenda's around. Now, if you want to start a pro-Tuesday Morning web site, you can enroll at Blogger.com. Otherwise, leave me and my world alone. I've done nothing personal to you...understand?

Sorry Ed, I wasn't trying to "egg" you on. I just meant that if someone slandered my wife,I would be like you and start a grass roots rebellion or better yet, I would take some course of legal action. No harm was intended.
We are hearing a lot about corporate accountability these days.
By accountability I mean more than just the current corporate and government buzzwords about counting the money correctly. I mean taking personal responsibility: seeing where one's responsibility lies, facing it squarely, facing facts honestly, being able to admit mistakes quickly and do something about them. Accountability comes from honest, accurate facts and knowing what responsibility a person can take for acting in light of those facts. Accountability provides a firm foundation for confidence. You can be confident in leaders if you know that the leaders are telling you the truth. If they are taking responsibility, then you in turn can take responsibility. As a leader you build accountability around your people. You put the facts on the table. You hold up the mirror of accountability. You show people where their performance fits in that range of facts.
Whoever wrote that above, was AWESOME!!! You are right on with what you said. Thanks for putting how alot of us feel into words.
For all of you out there read this to avoid more pain to the injury:
Recorded Statements to Insurance Adjusters
Please say one 100 times and write on the board 50 times: "I will politely decline to give any recorded statements to any insurance adjusters at any time."
You will barely be able to believe the pressure that insurance adjusters will put on you to make a recorded statement. It is against the law for them to record you without your permission, and they likely will not do that. They have to ask you.
Why do they try so hard to get a recorded statement? Why is it in your interest to never, ever give them a recorded statement? First, let's examine who is trying to get your statement and the purpose. Your insurance company, the first party carrier, will try to get your statement as part of its investigation into the accident. The adjuster will tell you it is your duty under the contract to cooperate with them and furnish the information.
The insurance company will try to get your statement under the ruse that it needs your version of the accident - just for the records - to confirm liability against their insured, and they need your medical information to make a fair settlement. So, then, why don't you just cooperate and give them a recorded statement so they can get on with it and settle your case?
You don't do that because of the unstated, real reasons both companies want your recorded statement. Interestingly, both adjusters, although they come from different perspectives in the case, seek to record you for precisely the same reasons. The recording is a great convenience for them. They don't have to take the time to get a written statement from you, and you can simply give your version over the phone. When it is done, it is in the record, the case is documented, and they can move forward. It may be as innocent as that. However, most of us are not prepared to give recorded statements at any time during our case, and most particularly at the outset, which is precisely when the statements are requested.
Why are we not prepared to make recorded statements? Most of us do not think well on our feet under circumstances involving the pressure of answering questions for a recording. We tense up. We forget important things. We answer questions in a roundabout way or incompletely, and none of the information comes through in a precise and thorough manner as it will when you put it down in writing.
Another problem is that after you have made the recorded statement, it is absolutely impossible to correct or expand upon what you said in the recording. How can you change your story six months or a year later, when it was given with your full cooperation at the beginning? Are you now changing your story to suit your needs for continued treatment when your insurance company wants to cut you off after an IME? Are you trying to gain an advantage for settlement with the insurance company by changing your story? They will not easily allow you to modify what you recorded.
Let's look at the techniques they will use. The first one is the casual, friendly technique. They will say it is for your benefit as well as theirs. They will say they are there to help you resolve the claim and to prove your claim. They will say they are going to help you pay your doctor bills, and your cooperation would be much appreciated.
Whether first party or third party, that voice on the other end of the line is not your friend, is not your good neighbor, and has her hand firmly planted on your wallet. She is your adversary. Treat her as such. She is also a trained adversary. Some insurance adjusters are excellent at getting you to say something which could be considered an admission of some fault on your part or - with respect to the degree of trauma incurred in the accident - something which would limit the seriousness of your injuries.
In addition, you cannot - at that early stage - have a complete understanding of all of your injuries. You may think that you understand your injuries within the first two or three weeks, but - believe us - if you have been involved in substantial trauma, your injuries will change and modify after the first two or three weeks. You may not even know it after the first week, but you might have suffered a low back strain when you were treated primarily for the acute cervical pain. When you hit your head you may have suffered a TMJ injury, and the first signs of that TMJ injury may not be recognizable by you even 10 days after the injury. When you leave that information off, you cannot come back and change it. The insurance adjuster wants you to give incomplete or inaccurate information because she is going to make you stick to it later on.
If your own carrier says that you have a duty to cooperate, and that giving a statement is part of that duty because otherwise they cannot pursue their subrogation against the third party, then what? Tell them that you will cooperate fully when the subrogation claim is ripe. You have no obligation to give a recorded statement. Tell him that you would be pleased to cooperate fully by giving a written statement as to how the accident occurred. Alternatively, ask him to wait until he sees your accident report form. Then, if he has any questions, he can ask a specific question and you can answer it in writing.
If he further insists that you are breaching your duty under the contract, call your Insurance Commissioner and get her opinion about it.
Under first party claims, if there is an allegation of fraud, you can be required to participate in not just a recorded statement but also an examination under oath. Your continued receipt of benefits from the company can be conditioned upon your being examined under oath, as described in our section on Surveillance . However, this tends to be reserved for instances where fraud is suspected in WC claims.
We do not think that the third party carrier will be abusive enough to claim that she has a right to a recorded statement. Stay in control of that relationship and let her know she is not going to get anything from you, other than your polite cooperation, until you send your demand letter.
As we always say, make notes and document everything. That includes confirming your conversations with the adjusters on these and any other topics.
Well said about the adjuster however if you get hurt and under WC do not talk to any adjuster under NO circumstances!
Retain a WC lawyer and have any and all contacts referred to him or her!
I too was hurt very badly at TM and not once did I talk to the adjuster!
They know the language not us and has anonymous stated you do not know the actual extensions of your injuries when TM & WC refuse to take care of you!
Then, here comes the "fun", you enter the "HELL" of WC and GOOD LUCK to all of you, because you are in for the ride of your life!!!
The other person that screw you up is the company doctor. When he ask me what kind of work I do. I told him the truth but in a mad way because I am not suppose to be doing this(management). He told me that this kind of work will continue keep me in this condition because of what I just told him . I explain to him that we do this every day. After finding about my denial,(not work related they decided) months later I saw what he wrote at the bottom on remarks ... that I was arguing to him about my condition.EXCUSE ME. what? So all this is a conspiracy from the begining.
A typical Claims Adjuster working in the United States earns a median base salary of $42,731, according to our analysis of data reported by corporate HR departments. Half of the people in this job earn between $37,582 and $48,411. The important thing here is that they do not have to lift a finger. All this people never saw us unloading a truck or open boxes or do all the nasty things . All they do is listen to you, earn your trust and then; lie, twist things around ,make you believe that you are in good hands and save corporate a great amount of money. One time I worked in collections and you have to do your job well if not you are fired. I decided to quit because my manager explain to us do not get involved, all we want is their MONEY we do not care how they get it. So this people lost the ability to really listen and give us the right treatment we should. We are not in good hands.
Here is a new fact too. The Managers in our region were TOLD that the employees "would be getting an extra 20% (for a total of 40%) off this past Friday,Saturday, and Sunday. Those days came and there was no e-maiil from Corporate stating that fact. Then we checked it to make sure in the registers, and sure enough. It wasn't happening. So when we have asked our Regional, "what is the deal" the reply was "it's not gonna happen"......what is up with that? They state something like that, we call our employees and announce it them and then nothing comes to them. I think that is so wrong. Not that an extra 20% off is even that big of deal, but these people do not get ANY perks. Let alone raises, and if they do get one it's nothing at all....pennies possibly. So is this Corporates way of punishing them and the Managers, for reading and writing on this BLOG??? I am wondering this. Well punish away if you need to. Because we aren't buying your stuff now anyway. Even with my HUGE discount of 20% off I can still get a better deal at Linens and Things. Some of us only work for the discount, and for the fact that we have to put into the S.S.I. system, or we need insurance, or some ladies, just want to get out of the house after their kids are grown up. Many of us really do not have to work. AND this is NOT the job to "build your self esteem" up with at all. Wake up Tuesday Morning Officials. You don't do anything to BOOST employee moral at all. You teased them with this latest thing.....then drop them like rocks. That was really nice of you all. When will your realize that your employees are not happy and your making it worse. They are leaving by the bus loads. We aren't stupid. Shame on you for thinking you can pull the wool over your "Consumer" employees eyes.
"No man would listen to you talk if he didn't know it was his turn next." Ed Howe
and your point is????
LOL...We all had the same thought too!
What is your quote supposed to imply?
Hey Ed,
Where are you at? We haven't had a new posting from you. Are you on vacation? Keep the course my brother. We all need the moral support out here in the trenches (stores), right now. It's "closing time" and you know what that means. The hellish INVENTORY,that is approaching us, and many of the stores are now doing SELF inventory because they are too cheap to pay the inventory companies to do this, we are much cheaper, those people make WAY more money than we do. They've told us what they make an hour just to count and scan products. It's a gross injustice. This is now pushing the limits to make the employees do this now on top of everything else they do at such little pay, they don't even know how to do this and neither do any of the managers. But again....they are cheaper.I was at the mall the other night and J.C. Penneys, was doing inventory...the store remained open, that is not the problem, the problem is, that they had an inventory crew in to do their counting. We could remain open and Dallas, could still bring in inventory "specialist" to do this. It's absurd. Then add to this mix, those massive truck loads being dumped on us, and don't forget those poor people that are doing the STORE remodels. No help, or direction from Corporate, they just send you a "packet" to read, and you have to do it. Just like the inventory.....they send you a "package" with the information and you take it from there. PLUS with all the craziness that comes with closing, you have to continue to work trucks and PREP for inventory. Right! It's not happening, and everyone is rushing around freaking out, trying to pull in every employee we can right now because this thing isn't happening like they "planned." Oh....and like you think your suppposed to get a tiny "break" during this time but you don't. "No rest for the weary" it's only more major confussion and when you get some sort of direction, or insight, they change it and leave you hanging and wondering. Our inventory date has been changed, our PRE inventory dates and our holiday plans are now suffering due to their last minute "changes" again. No one tells you anything in advance and you TRY to get a plan, then they crash it all to the ground. It's so frustrating. We faced that AGAIN just yesterday at our store. I can't name the issue or we would be identified right away, but believe me. It was downright foolish and dangerous on their part. I will never understand how these people have been in business for this many years and doing what they do, and still survive it just shows you how jackasses can run any major corporation. They are so scattered and disorganized. I don't even think they know who is in charge of what most of the time.
Could this be WHY we aren't getting the "employee appreciation discount"....because we complain? Or because they just love to suck the life out of us along with all our money they pay us too?
I put my stuff I was going to purchase back on the shelves.
So there. We can play hardball too. We work hard and take our jobs seriously. But beware of US! WE ARE the "consumer" that works for YOU! We have buying power and do not have to purchase our items with Tuesday Morning. You might want to keep that in mind.
Re:No man would listen to you talk if he didn't know it was his turn next.
This is just a reminder to the ones that lied againts me or believe that I am faking my injury.
This is my interpretation:
They will not listen to you unless they knew the same thing will happen to them in the near future.
I just found this very important information:
The majority of group health insurance plans require the employee to indicate in writing that the bills submitted for payment were not incurred as a result of a work-related injury. Such an admission could jeopardize a subsequent claim for Workers' Compensation benefits.
The bottom line... you will be needlessly jeopardizing your financial security and forfeiting your legal right to receive Workers' Compensation benefits by receiving treatment under the group health insurance plan.
Re:No man would listen to you talk if he didn't know it was his turn next
Uh, that quote means no man would listen if he didn't think it was "his turn [to *talk*] next." That's what the confusion is about.
I found this but I deleted some parts and added others just for fun:To submit a resume for this position, you must place Tuesday Morning as Experience. They make more money that us.( I did not change this)

Philadelphia janitors earn $11.96 an hour plus health insurance
Pittsburgh janitors are paid $14.38 per hour plus health insurance
San Francisco janitors are paid $15.65 per hour plus health insurance
Time for some of us to move, well, maybe just get a new job in our area. They do have them. The problem is that some of us have gotten "Comfortable" with what we have learned and what we do. Plus, we like those that we work with, so this hurts to have to leave, but frankly, all my friends either are or HAVE already left. So the time is short, nothing is changing at the stores, many of us held on, thinking it would. But I am getting too tired and too old for this type of bad behaviour.
