Self-Inventories...Arghhh!!

Ok, folks. This weeks topic is...you guessed it, Self-Inventories. Wow, is that a cheap alternative? And, as an extra added bonus, it's more work for the store employees. But that's probably the tip of the iceberg because this company robs from Peter to pay Paul, meaning wherever they lose ground with one expenditure, they take it away somewhere else, and that somewhere else is in labor dollars. They take from that pool constantly, sort of like corporations are used to doing to pension funds, health care and many other once 'iron clad' benefits. When you see a company constantly hurting their own employees it's time to hit the exit. It is a real shame that company's have to make their profits unethically (I will never use the term illegally here against Tuesday Morning because nothing that I've seen or heard borders on the illegal) and resort to 'News Media Propaganda' such as the statement that there is no "employee relations problems" (seemingly timed during the rise in popularity of this blog and egoinc) and the pep talk given by Kathleen Mason trying to sound like Tuesday Morning actually has a vision for the future. She states she's going after the affluent crowd then quotes someone who's excited about the clearance aisle. I've met those clearance aisle shoppers...they're the ones tearing up the store for items selling for pennies on the dollar of their once 'true' price. Wake up America...your being taken for a ride by 'corporate types' who went to college to learn how to successfully part you with your hard earned cash. PT Barnum said it well..."There's a sucker born every minute!" Get over this compulsion to buy something and let's fix this crap!!!
Ok, gang, your homework assignment this week is to comment about your Self-Inventory experiences but I would also like you to list your top five gripes about Tuesday Morning...you know, those things that make you stress out while you are at work.
Also, if you are hoping to go back through the archives to look up an old comment or blog entry, they limit me to 75 entries. It's a shame losing all those gems, although I've got them all on my hard drive. EgoInc entries started on April 15th, 2003 and this blog on June 13th of 2004. And we didn't even have a First Anniversary Party. I've got a better idea, why don't we start a new Political Party centered around our 'Labor' party (meaning all of us). Just a thought, and no, I don't want to be in politics...my ethical values are too high and I haven't been to law school (yes, those two were put together in the same sentence for that reason...synonymous).
Until next time...Adios, Amigos.

Get A Life, Please

A little info to the people who are chomping at the bit to say useless bullshit here to try and rattle me...I really don't give a crap what is said. I will forever be the thorn in Tuesday Mornings side. It is free to start a blog on blogspot, hence it was easy to do, and it was done to bring these people together to lend a voice for them, not so that you could feel good about yourself saying such profound bullshit. Whatever was said on any of my blogs has been not only my opinion but the opinion of MANY that worked for or still work for Tuesday Morning. And anything I said here but retracted was done so because even I crossed the line with useless rhetoric and I had a change of heart in what was said. And I could care less who owns Tuesday Morning, they still allow this crap to happen because they do have a part ownership and are just as responsible as each and every investor who has a stake in it. Or is this another company operating without accountability who gets away with whatever they want because "we need jobs in America". Or maybe the blog police have caught up with me and they don't like the posting of things not approved by you. Whatever it is, please get a life and troll someone else's blog.
"Maybe you don't want any advice & would prefer that I just leave you to rant. Let me know & I will accommodate you. If you do want to help I would start by asking the people on your TM blog what exactly they would like to accomplish. You might be surprised at some of the answers.

NOT MM"
No, not MM, but probably Sheri, or someone who has the official answers. By the way, did anyone in corporate see if all stores even needed those nexiflexes? I was in the East Brunswick store and it was just a space waster. It was designed to go from the truck to the stock room, but the stockroom was below street level with a stairway and railing blocking it's use. Put a wooden shelf on it, it became a great bench to open boxes on, but did not help on truck day. Well thought out plan, I'm sure. And don't give me that crap that it avoided more WC claims...did Tuesday Morning start packing their cartons lighter? That would be the only way to avoid those claims. You guys ship some really heavy merchandise to your stores without regard to what happens at the store level. The philosophy is that if they took the job as store manager they can just damn well figure out how to get the job done at any cost, just like they do in the military, but you wouldn't know about that because you've never been in the military.

This is a blog and I'm not some official person who has to live by some special standards to gain accountability. This was formed to allow the weak to speak up and voice their opinion about the very company they were working for, a company that does not care about their own employees. The welfare of these people are not, nor will they ever be important to TM corporate. Why else would you be here pointing out all the wrongs of the blog and touting the good that's been done by corporate. You lose credibility every time you do that. I never professed to be a leader, I just gave these people a forum to tell their side of a "bad story", and to allow certain legal types to monitor and set the stage for , you guessed it, more lawsuits against Tuesday Morning, and while I'm at it, why has Tuesday Morning pulled Ralph Lauren polo shirts from the floor to get them ready to ship back...have they done the fake product trick again? I'll bet you even have a s.a. answer for that, too! And does any one really care whether Nancy is my girlfriend or my wife (not my wife, just my girlfriend of 25 years)...I think not, just some useless crap that you think is important. And if you keep up on the news such as my supreme court rhetoric that was copied and pasted from MSNBC, I think my rhetoric is hitting home as to the real problems in America and the world...businesses entrenched in the political process and spoiling the planet for profit.
And one more thing, I don't hide behind 'anonymous'...my name is on everything I post. Be brave and show your true self. Gain some credibility. You must know I'll never know who you are because the blog was set up that way, so be brave and let the world know who you are. I am not some hero, nor do I profess to know it all. Yes, some posts were out of emotion, other times based on fact. But the part about the things said by MM, that was all fact, attestable by three former regional managers. I've even received e-mail from people working in your own corporate office in Dallas who stated the working conditions there were not so good either. So, Anonymous, be proud of who you work for and the 'great' things you've accomplished. And keep up the good work of harrassing the little people, you do it so well!

Setting up a potential clash with religious conservatives, the national business lobby for the first time is marshaling its forces to persuade the White House to pick an industry-friendly Supreme Court nominee.

Usually, corporations duck Supreme Court fights. This time, with vital interests at stake, business advocates are raising millions of dollars, plotting major lobbying campaigns, and quietly working to influence the president as he ponders a replacement for Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

For 2 1/2 years, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the nation's largest business association, has privately funneled to the White House staff in-depth analyses of decisions rendered by federal appeals court judges — the most likely pool of high court candidates. The reports, which the chamber declined to make public, grade jurists on their pro-business leanings, and none received a rating of more than 70 out of 100.

The chamber and other industry groups have also told the White House that they plan to bankroll large-scale efforts to promote the president's choice, which they see as another incentive for President Bush to take into account corporate concerns such as taxation and product liability when he makes his selection.

The Beat Goes On

Well, back by popular demand, the best thorn in your side. The underlying theme of this blog is to expose the cruel Workmans Comp insurance system and the lack of corporate direction for the very stores that belong to them. It is about a fractured company that is relying on investor return to gauge success instead of actual success in presentation of it's products. The stores are shabby, not chic, they are in mostly run down shopping centers, mixed in with all the wrong stores, and this is from my observations of Tuesday Morning stores and locations just traveling around the northeast region, all the way from Maryland to Maine and as far west as the Great Lakes region. I have heard from managers and assistant managers in Texas, Louisiana, and California. They describe the exact same conditions I and many others have witnessed with this so called corporation. In it's current form this is the brainchild of Madison-Dearborn. It was taken public by them, therefore it sent Tuesday Morning off in the direction it is headed...toward larger investor return and less emphasis on employees and infrastructure that is too expensive to update or change. All change within Tuesday Morning is slow and cautiously taken with investors and their return in mind. Yeah, I know, doesn't all business rely on a form of this 'business formula'? Early on Tuesday Morning was a profit takers dream and was still run like that until 2004, the year of the 'no performance bonus'. Now there is finally nervousness at Tuesday Morning. The federal government is considering or just passed a law whereas there will be a check box on application forms asking about your preference about unions making it easier for unions to be formed where ever labor is working, even at Tuesday Morning and WalMart. Man are they mad?
So, gang, on we go, fighting the misguided and letting the world know where we stand...about two feet over there ~~~~~~~~>?

And With That, Good Night

I have publicized the arrogance of the corporate mentality, and if some take offense, tough shit, it was my blog. Now I will publically resolve all the issues. This blog is closed, so copy and paste what you can, it will be deleted in 24 hours. Anyone who wishes to take up the cause may do so with my blessings, but I am moving on in life. Go 'Smirks'! Good night.

Moron Alert!

Seems a few morons have taken residence at this blog. And name callers to boot. Adding fuel to the fire, or just showing your maturity?

We Need A New Beginning

Ah, it's lame ass inventory time. This company is still in the dark ages. The only innovation I've seen Tuesday Morning actually do is their modernization of their warehouse but that's expected...that's within sight of the corporate office so was easily seen by the "bigwigs" in corporate. They can't see their stores from Dallas so they ignore them, and you, dear Tuesday Morning person in the trenches. Remember some of the advice here, such as 'Find another job' and 'get a lawyer if your hurt'. I reiterate this advice because nothing, and I mean nothing will ever change at the corporate level. If you want happiness and a good job you had better pay closer attention to the political process so that eventually we can push businesses and their money back out of it. Every citizen in the United States of America has been forced to worry about mundane bullshit while these 'smirks' have taken over. Slowly we are seeing the news media waking up to what has happened to America, and Tuesday Morning being allowed to run their business in such an abusive manner toward it's store level employees is one example of what I've been trying to say here. It's not just Tuesday Morning Corp., but most corporations think they are more important than the very consumers they are trying to sell merchandise to. Please boycott, whether it's Tuesday Morning, or WalMart for having everything in their store 'Made In China'. This will be the only way you will see change in America.
