>>Oh, give me a break. "Most bankruptcy is due to medical emergencies, etc???"

Please, you need to grow up.<< To the "wise" person who wrote this, no you grow up. I didn't write that, I quoted it from another source, which I identified. And if you are part of the credit card lobby, get a life and don't troll. The point of the quote was that all those so called educated, elite Americans are now looking down on the 'middleclass' and having laws passed to benefit businesses at the expense of the people who are paying for that very same government. How much taxes did your company pay last year, oh, wise one.
Now, back to the topic here. Tuesday Morning. Have anything useful to say about that?

Everyone check this out.....lets see what we can come up with. Especially on that "50 lb. weight limit" thing that DOES in fact kick a potential applicant out of the computer if they state that they can not lift that amount.
Dig through this web site and see what may pertain to your situations. I say we arm ourselves with whatever we can. I have WARNED my employees over and over NOT to get hurt on the job because this company will NEVER allow you to claim workman's comp. It's totally unethical. By the way, I clean the bathrooms at my store too....I'm an Assistant and my Manager cleans them WHEN there is a horrible problem. We aren't abusive to our employees, there are a few good ones of us out there that are ethical and do not like or agree with what Corporate does and inflicts on Management or the Employees. We need incomes too, just like everyone else,we need health insurance too.But not all of us Managers feel that we have to kill everyone that gets in our way. Some of us FIGHT for our employees and their rights. Believe me, me and my Manger do it every day. I really have seen, firsthand and by word of mouth, how Corporate pressures all levels of Managers, to do what they want at "any cost"...and some Managers do that. They abuse their employees, they perform the "DOG EAT DOG" thing because they "think" that they have to act that way. Yet, in fact when they do manage that way.....they are acting just like the big dogs at Corporate and it's WRONG. Some of us don't act that way. We were brought up better than that. We have work ethics. We have integrity. We have souls. We have good working employees that are team players and we want to keep them, so we don't trample them, we take interest in them and their kids and their lives. We are a family at my store. It's getting harder and harder to stay though, in fact, many of us AREN'T going to stay and are looking for ways out. We love our employees but not Corporate and it's madness. They have gone crazy.
I refuse to lower my good standards because they make crummy plans, because they overspend their budgets, because they pay their CEO and CCO, WAY too much, because they open way too many stores and can't maintain the ones they have and because they are unorgainized and their sales are down due to bad purchases. Example: Same old merchandise over and over again in the Green Card sales. We employees are sick of looking at it too. They hold this stuff then it resurfaces in another Green Card flyer two months down the road. Customers complained to us like I have never heard them complain this last sale. They hated the ad. So.....is it any wonder their sales are down?
I PRAY someone at Corporate reads these blogs and see the pulse of their people that work for them because it's way over the edge. They are loosing it and their employees DO NOT respect them nor their tactics. We don't have to do this forever. WE can do better and will. When the doors swing open for many of us, we are out of there. Not that Dallas, cares. It's very obvious that they don't care because their Senior Store Manager turn over rate is over 30%. Someone at Corporate diligued that fact to me. Something is wrong with that picture. That's not even counting regular employees. These people don't stay. Why? Because they make nothing and are forced to work like 3rd world employees. The systems are antiquated. Someone needs to do something and fast or they will fold up. The writing is already on the walls. We can see it. If they can't, then they are as dumb at they portary themselves when they send out e-mails about the stupidest things then "recall" them. This is A-Typical. How many times have we been sent the "wrong" pay templates? Over and over. Get a clue. Then POS.....what the heck is the deal when you can't even get the GREENCARD sku's in the computer for SALE DAY???? They can't because they have been putting so many "markdowns" in the system. They would need to work 24/7 to do that and we all know...."there isn't any payroll." Right. Do we sound frustrated? Don't kid yourselves. Everyone is FRUSTRATED!!! Everytime you call anyone at Corporate about something or they call you they are the most hateful people on the planet. With the exception of some of the ladies in the Traffic Dept. We just figure they are as upset as we are and are probably dealing with the same junk we get. Just not on the "Front lines" like we get it. We get the customers too climbing our backsides.
Probably all the way up to the top, everyone is frustrated. Probably our CEO is too but can't leave because she can't give up the money she makes, although she is on a new "board" now.....for the "Hot Topic" stores. Don't buy their stuff either. Or stuff from the Family Christian Bookstores, another lovely, Madison Dearborn store. Hit them where it hurts. In their wallets. FYI!

I saw the new commercial for TM last night. The customers look happy, the store looks clean. The floors are very white and shinny.
Then the 2 customers go out making a big fuss about what a bargain they got! Where are the employees? The store runs by itself? I think they could not affort to pay any employee to show a happy face.Or they where so tired after getting this store clean for this commercial that nobody was able to show up for the shooting. FYI: those customers looked very happy because they change the prices.NOW I get it!!!!

I saw that new commercial tonight too. It was so stupid because none of the Tuesday Morning stores look that great, except say in Dallas? Ours is a big store and looks like crap. Couldn't show that one in a commerical with Lauren Bacall's voice bellowing like a man in the background. Why didn't they play some of that trashy music for the commerical like they make us listen to all day and night. Maybe they could have had "Ina Gada DiVida" playing in the back ground for it like we have to hear. The 20 minute song with that famous 10 minute drum and guitar solos going on that customers always complain about.
Those FAKE actor "customers" probably got paid more to do that commerical than we get paid in a year and did nothing hard, labor wise to get it. That is the sick thing.
