Again ;-)

Look, for those offended by my ribbing of Republicans, get over it. There is a tremendous amount of wrong being done in this country by all political sides so don't take offense. Yes, us Democrats had Clinton, and now we find out even our hero JFK had his faults. I think the biggest point I've been trying to get across all along is that Tuesday Mornings behavior is just the tip of the iceberg of corporate dominance of the political and hence, our private lives. Everything being done in Washington is now for the benefit of corporations bottom lines, and our choices and liberty are slowly being eroded. And remember, 95% of money (wealth) on the earth is in the hands of 5% of the population, and that 5% holds your life in their hands. Or put another way, 95% of the worlds population only own 5% of the wealth. I'll stop here before I'm accused of conspiracy theory mongering. Yes, Tuesday Morning needs the union, yes, it might take a few more class action law suits to wake some up, but in the end we 95% need to take our country back according to the Constitution Of The United States Of America, not according to some Code Of Conduct at some corporation.

Another installment of who's running our country. PS...this is fact, not fiction...source available upon request.

Number 3: Still about Sr.

1959 Manuel Noriega recruited as an agent by the US Defense Intelligence Agency.

1960 Some investigators believe George Bush spent part of this year and the next in Miami on behalf of the CIA, organizing rightwing exiles for an invasion of Cuba. Is said to have worked with later Iran-Contra figure Felix Rodriguez.

1961 According to the Realist, CIA official Fletcher Prouty delivers three Navy ships to agents in Guatemala to be used in the Bay of Pigs invasion. Prouty claims he delivered the ships to a CIA agent named George Bush. Agent Bush named the ships the Barbara, Houston and Zapata.
Bay of Pigs invasion fails. Right-wingers blame Kennedy for failure to provide air cover. CIA loses 15 men, another 1100 are imprisoned.
George Bush invites Rep. TL. Ashley -- a fellow Skull & Boner -- down to Texas for a party in order to meet "an attractive girl." Bush writes that "she may be accompanied by an Austrian ski instructor but I think we can probably flush him at the local dance hall." Bush notes that he's had to unlist his phone because "Jane Morgan keeps calling me all the time." [From a letter in the Ashley archives uncovered by Spy magazine.]

More Useful and Some More Useless Info ;-)

So how do you know if you, a loved one, or someone who reports to you is suffering from burnout? Here are the early-warning signs.

1. Chronic fatigue - exhaustion, tiredness, a sense of being physically run down
2. Anger at those making demands
3. Self-criticism for putting up with the demands
4. Cynicism, negativity, and irritability
5. A sense of being besieged
6. Exploding easily at seemingly inconsequential things
7. Frequent headaches and gastrointestinal disturbances
8. Weight loss or gain
9. Sleeplessness and depression
10. Shortness of breath
11. Suspiciousness
12. Feelings of helplessness
13. Increased degree of risk taking

I'll bet everyone who works for, runs, or is connected in any way with Tuesday Morning is suffering from all thirteen symptoms!

Still don't believe there's a problem in America? More history of fearless leader. Round two for the Republican happy crowd!

Number 2: Bush Sr.

1953 George Bush and the Liedtke brothers form Zapata Petroleum. Zapata's subsidiary, Zapata Offshore, later becomes known for its close ties to the CIA.

1954 The Bush family buys out the Liedtke brothers.

1955 George Bush sets up a Mexican drilling operation, Permago, with a frontman to obscure his ownership. The frontman later is convicted of defrauding the Mexican government of $58 million.

If corporate is in fact monitoring this site...

If corporate is in fact monitoring this site I will state this for their benefit. You stated in your SEC report that labor relations were good. I'll state my fact...I have received personal e-mails from store managers, asst. managers and associates located in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, California, New Jersey and New York, to name a few. The content is the same...you work your butt off for this company and get bullshit in return. I could see if it was in fact harassment to people hired by Denise to get rid of them, but that is not the case. All Tuesday Morning employees are tired of this crap. I have even heard from employees that work in the corporate office. Where do you think I came up with a high turn-over rate for Store Managers. They are definitely living in fear for their jobs and Tuesday Morning and the "bigwigs" will be scrambling soon to fill a lot of vacancies...why, because people are getting tired of this S**T and leaving Tuesday Morning. No one can afford to work there any longer due to low wages in high cost areas, such as the New York metropolitan area, and be harassed to boot. And if you have that "frig 'em, we'll hire someone else to do their jobs" attitude, the caliber you get will be worse than what you ran off. You will be hiring desperate people who won't stay once they see the writing on the wall. And a note to Sheri...get rid of the heels, this isn't the halls of TM Corporate.

"Want a fun, part time job?"

Nancy lost her appeal for unemployment. I was standing next to her while she had her telephone hearing (a joke to say the least) and the Tuesday Morning representative lied through his teeth, right Andy? The people who work for Tuesday Morning Corporate have absolutely no morals and definitely no people skills. Their best asset is they have refined bullshit and taken unethical to new heights. I also received a personal e-mail from someone in management at one of TM's stores and another person is denied Workmans Comp. It has become glaringly apparent that laws and regulations have been changed to benefit big business. On top of this big companies are given big breaks on their taxes owed to the federal government. So the question is, how the hell do you collect either one of these? I have heard of no one who gets workmans comp or unemployment after working at Tuesday Morning. So why the hell is everyone still working there? You are guaranteed to be mistreated, lied to and worked until your injured, then denied Workmans Comp, or if, even after knowing that no one collects WC, you quit and are denied Unemployment. And then this outfit has the balls to put on their register receipts..."Want a fun, part time job?". There is no fun at Tuesday Morning, only abuse, lies, and 'slave labor'. My advice to all is GET OUT NOW!!! Get your resume out there, ask around if any one knows of any job opening, go back to school to learn a different trade (retail is really not a trade and not even a good occupation any longer).
A little note to the bigwigs....we have proof that you hire men at higher salaries than women for the same job (an ongoing practice). We have proof that certain individuals in NJ were targeted for termination, and said directive came directly from Michael Marchetti, and that all of this is condoned by the Board Of Directors and the investment group known as Madison-Dearborn.
Also, rollers that were needed in the East Brunswick, NJ store was removed by a Zone Manager and given to a store that has a loading dock. Therefore Nancy did in fact try her best with what she had and that under new management the East Brunswick store is still in the same shape...very bad. It is not the store managers fault...the location of that store is right in the middle of low income housing. My advice, close that store.

Tuesday Morning Corporate does not school their managers as other retail companies do. They are harassed from day one and it never stops until the managers have had enough and flee. Are you really so proud of this reputation, TM? Gee, why don't you publish another Code Of Conduct...all those people suffering through your "fun, part time jobs" would love that. And, do another markdown audit right before the next green card...that'll have 'em laughing in the aisles. You arrogant pieces of **** will probably think of something in retaliation for people trying to have a good life by complaining here. Be thankful it hasn't escalated into the court room as yet.

Even If...

Even if this is all conspiracy theory it throws enough doubt on the Republican Party to make all supporters suspect. In order to be successful in business you have to be part lawyer (read LIAR here). And remember, this is Ed's blog...don't like it, click off!!!
There is a sickness here that must be addressed, and I'll do my best to make just what is wrong VERY CLEAR!
By the way, even though the title of this blog is Tuesday Morning, the subtitle is Everything you wanted to know about retail but were afraid to ask, and basically there's a sickness in America where corporations are trying to influence laws to their favor at the jeapordy of ordinary citizens...are you extraordinary?

Former GOP Insider Says
He Has 911 Smoking Gun
Architect of GOP Resurgence Says Boeing
737, not 767, Struck South WTC Tower
By Greg Szymanski
4-22-5

A former Republican Party insider turned Bush basher thinks he has stumbled across what may be the "smoking gun," proving the U.S. government's official story about the WTC attacks is an "unequivocal lie."

Karl Schwarz of Little Rock, Ark., who several years ago began exposing corruption amongst the neo-conservative movement in a book entitled A One-Way Ticket to Crawford, Texas, now has set his sights on proving government complicity in 9-11.

For years, the successful business entrepreneur and conservative Republican, once asked by the RNC to run against Bill Clinton for Arkansas governor, has been using his inside political and business clout to expose corruption among the neo-cons in the Bush administration.

He strayed away from the Bush agenda two years after being one of the lead orchestrators in the Republican Party takeover of Congress during the Clinton administration.

"I designed the strategy that took the House and Senate from Clinton," recalls Schwarz, also a strong supporter and strategist for President George H. W. Bush. "I designed that takeover two years before I realized the Republican 'Contract with America' was actually a 'Contract on America.' "

After his political reawakening, Schwarz began blasting the neo-cons where it hurt most-in their pocketbooks-coming forward with evidence regarding oil deals and government involvement with the Taliban and Pakistan.

In his book and his ongoing seven-part series of articles entitled "Pop Goes the Bush Mythology Bubble," he provides inside information about countless financial scams, essentially revealing that the Bush motive behind the Middle East invasion was more about oil profits than the war on terrorism.

Saying the neo-cons within the government are destroying America for their own corporate-global benefits, Schwarz doesn't mince words and is calling for the impeachment of Bush, as well as removal of any member of Congress who aids and abets the corrupt powers.

Now, moving away from financial corruption, he has turned his attention to the 9-11 truth movement, saying he has found a piece of obscure video footage that shows that the government lied about what type of plane struck the south tower of the WTC.

Schwarz admits he had a "whole lot" of luck when running across the video footage in a French foreign film entitled The Barbarian Invasion.

Contained in the film unrelated to 9-11, is a 1 minute, 52 second, video segment, shot by an unknown amateur photographer at the WTC, which Schwartz says clearly shows a Boeing 737 airliner striking the south tower.

"We tracked down the filmmaker and he acquired the original WTC segment from the Canadian News Service," said Schwarz, adding that he has had the tape analyzed by experts proving it's not a fake. "We are tracking down the original photographer and want to get to him before the government does in order to prove its authenticity.

"This segment, however, conclusively shows a 737 hit the south tower, not a 767 as previously reported. This in itself should be the smoking gun, which proves the whole story given to us by the government about 9-11 is untrue."

Originally, the government claimed the second jetliner en route to Los Angeles was a Boeing 767. However, Schwarz said the video will not only show the airline dimensions to be those of a 737, but that he also has evidence that the engine recovered in the WTC wreckage was a model type CFM56, which propels a 737, not a 767.

"Not even two CFM56's could get a 767 off the ground," added Schwartz.
Besides 9-11, Schwartz said three major areas that need to be thoroughly investigated regarding the Bush administration's present policies include:

* Administration ties with Afghanistan, the Taliban and the Bridas Corp. Schwarz claims a high-ranking Bridas executive is one of his main sources, implicating the Bush administration with corruption involving the Taliban and the Afghan invasion.

* Information implicating 9-11 commission members with direct and indirect financial benefits due to the Bush policies in the Middle East.

"Whistleblowers Sibel Edmonds, Karen Kwiatkowski and others whom I cannot disclose without jeopardizing their safety, including many members of the armed services, have acted as my main sources," said Schwarz.

Asked how he would describe himself, since many critics may consider him a disgruntled Republican, he said:

"I am conservative, fiscally responsible, an ecumenical Christian and an American patriot who clearly understands fascism and clearly sees this is exactly what is going on within the Bush administration.

"To answer my critics, they can say whatever. However, those who read my book will clearly see that the main problem now facing America has been caused and amplified by the last three presidential administrations, Bush I, Clinton and Bush II."

To The Lone Gunman

To the LONE Bush supporter...kudos...you are supporting a lost cause. You and 50% of the computers voted for Bush. I commend and LAUGH at you. You are not the future of America or any where else in the world. It is becomming apparent that you all think you got one over on us but we're way smarter than that.
Point number two...this is Ed's blog and you'll have to read what Ed supports....which is definitely NOT pro G.Bush. The American people were duped and your still going along with it. You are like my neighbors...."Well, there's nothing we can do about it, so whatever!" There is a lot WE can do, and one of those things is to really think about the direction of our country. Do you really think that G.W.Bush is getting messages from God to run our country? Do me a favor and get a life, don't troll blogs, and keep your opinion to yourself.

Getting To The Bottom Of This

>Conservatives: Exactly How Bad Do Things Have to Get?

By W. David Jenkins III

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”

— Theodore Roosevelt

There’s a scene that takes place early on in Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist where, after finishing his daily ration of gruel, Oliver timidly asks the master at the workhouse, "Please, sir, I want some more." On a more contemporary level, there’s a scene in the movie “Animal House” where frat pledge, Kevin Bacon, after receiving a painful blow to his bent over backside says, “Thank you, sir! May I have another?” Now, mix these two examples together and you will have just a little bit more insight into what must be the Bush lover’s psyche. The former being the need for emotional “sustenance”, the latter representing the harsh reality of the situation.

The problem is, well, they don’t realize exactly what they’re being served and they haven’t a clue that they’re being whacked. It’s almost enough to make you feel sorry for ‘em . . . almost.

One of the things I like to ask people who can still somehow support this administration is for them to name just one thing that Bush has done that hasn’t ended up being a complete disaster. Usually I get one of three responses: success in Afghanistan ; the Iraq elections; and the fact that America hasn’t been attacked since 9/11. That’s about it — other than the usual lame nonsense of Bush being a “Christian” and a “strong leader” and that just goes to show they haven’t read their Bibles lately and they can’t tell the difference between “strong” and “arrogant.”

The gruel being fed to these folks is served on a daily basis by such sources as FNC, The Washington Times, Newsmax and the loathsome Free Republic . These sources and others like them are the thin porridge of what passes for information that allows them to get by just one more day. And even if they stray to one of the other 24/7 news sources, it’s still the same old gruel with maybe a few more lumps in it. But this kind of daily diet is what allows these people to believe the above-mentioned reasons for their Bush allegiance as they walk through life in a kind of Stepford Shuffle.

Spank No. 1: Afghanistan

So Laura Bush makes a surprise visit to Afghanistan at the end of March to flaunt and brag about all the good things her hubby (who has yet to step foot in that country) has done over there. Problem is she never ventures outside of Kabul and why is that?

Because her hubby left Afghanistan a flipping mess, that’s why.

There are more cops (for now) in Manhattan than there were American troops sent to Afghanistan to avenge the deaths we sustained on September 11.

You conservatives remember all that “smoke ‘em out” mouthing off you bought into a few years back? Guess what? It didn’t happen and guess what else? Not only is Osama (remember him?) not in our custody but the Taliban isn’t gone either.

In fact, the Taliban has been very busy recruiting new followers in northern Pakistan – one of our “allies” in the war on terrorism. The area around Quetta and the universities there are fertile breeding grounds for anti-American sentiments and the Taliban is enjoying a surge of new recruits.

And although the Taliban is presently scarce in Kabul , there is a resurgence of the warlords of Afghanistan throughout the rest of the country. Heroin-yielding poppies are still the major export in the outer regions which helps to insure the financial stability of these warlords and, if things weren’t bad enough, they are the perfect replacement for the Taliban as their social values are remarkably similar. Especially when it comes to women. Burkas have not disappeared from the country – remember, 80 percent of the population is outside of Kabul – and women are still struggling for acceptance, let alone equality. For instance, women still needed their husbands’ permission to vote in the last election. And for what?

The Afghan election was structured by the U.S. in order to address that which the U.S. deemed important. The election changed virtually nothing in reality. Just like the Afghan constitution signed earlier last year, it merely gave equal rights to women on paper. The election meant little when it comes to the harsh reality still facing Afghani women. They are still for the most part uneducated and underrepresented when it comes to elections. They still have little control over the patriarchal justice system and sexist attitudes which still exist. In other words, the bombs changed nothing. And there are no girls going to school outside of Kabul . Somebody might want to let Laura in on that little tidbit.

The restructuring of Afghanistan is under-financed and ill-planned and has left the country, in all reality, no better off than it was before the U.S. went in. The “success” conservatives point to is little more than that gruel we talked about.

Thank you, sir! I want some more.”

Spank No. 2: Iraq

I’m not going to spend a lot of time on the subject of Iraq because there’s no need to. Iraq boils down to a couple of things that have come to light and, as usual, has received little coverage by the corporate media. But the debacle that is the Iraq situation boils down to just a few hard facts.

Bush and Co. had designs on Iraq from the get-go – long before 9/11 gave them an “excuse.” The CIA could not give Bush Co. what they wanted so they established the Office of Special Plans within the Pentagon in order to “filter” the intelligence they were getting. And just to make sure they had a little extra to go with, they utilized the information provided by a drunken, unstable liar — code named “Curveball” — someone the CIA had warned them about prior to the invasion. More than 1,500 American service personnel are dead along with more than 100,000 innocent Iraqi men, women and children. The United States has sacrificed credibility, tax dollars and thousands upon thousands of human lives so a couple of misguided ideologues could play “army man” with other people's kids.

The only thing to show for all the wreckage is a lopsided “election” that has changed nothing and has been reduced to a political photo-op for Republicans – as they were so eager to display at the State of the Union speech.

That’s Iraq in a nutshell. That’s why so many are being sacrificed.

Spank No. 3: 9/11 and the lack of another attack

One would think that because it’s been shown Bush has done very little to secure the U.S. since 9/11 — with the exception that now many federal airport screeners know what our socks look like — and that we haven’t been attacked in almost four years would raise more questions by any thinking person than it has. But no one in power is asking why. In essence, like the raised purple-stained fingers of January, 9/11 has been robbed of any meaning to the Republican far right other than an “opportunity” to take all those dubious plans they’ve had over the years off the shelf and try ‘em out on the complacent masses which make up the media and other conservative followers.

Geo-political dominance, unilateral foreign policies, unprovoked invasions and the dismantling of domestic programs and civil liberties in order to further empower those with too much wealth and authority already has been pursued and achieved as a kind of sick response to what happened to this country that September morning.

Instead of a call to unite the world with us, 9/11 has instead given America an Attorney General who sought advice on “legal torture,” an American ambassador to the UN who despises the world body itself, an intelligence “czar” who oversaw death squads in Honduras, a Defense Secretary and his Under Secretary (now the World Bank president) who flipped the one finger salute to the world and still cannot admit that they turned American foreign policy into one giant cluster-you-know-what.

But what really amazed me about the aftermath of 9/11 was the series of immediate and consistent and attempts by this administration to stop every investigation into the disaster. Don’t conservatives ever ask themselves why?

Thumbs Up to the Speeding Truck

One of the things they teach you in psychology is the inherent characteristic of self-preservation that exists in every creature. Commonly referred to as “fight or flight”, it’s the primary response of living things in order to protect themselves from a perceived threat to their survival.

Basically it boils down either to kicking the threat’s butt or getting away from it as fast as possible.

Remarkably, Bush conservatives have managed to replace this very basic survival instinct with a placebo in the guise of “fair and balanced” information sources and AM Talk Radio. Their listeners' intelligence and well-being are assaulted on a daily basis but they feel just fine. They’re standing in the middle of the road facing a speeding truck racing into them and they just stand there, smile and give it the thumbs up. How is this possible?

The recently passed Bankruptcy bill is a prime example. These happy idiots are waving their flags ‘cause Bush is keeping the terrorists on the run but meanwhile the Republicans just made it easier for them to lose everything.

Lost your job? Medical crisis? Home foreclosure while you’re off fighting in Iraq ? Bush Co. just informed you – too bad, so sad. We’re at war, y’know and these financial companies have suffered enough.

But the speeding truck threatens more than just their personal well-being; it threatens the very foundations of the political party they hold so dear.

Put it this way: when you have Republicans like Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan and Bob Dole raising warning flags regarding the actions of today’s ultra-right and the long-term consequences it could have on their party – that should be a wake up call.

What If It Were Clinton ?

That’s another thing I like to ask Bush Kissers when discussing the overtly bad behavior of today’s ultra-right wingers. Just how thick would the foam coming from their mouths be if these same actions were attributed to those dastardly Clintonians?

Just recently at a conservative gathering in Washington, lawyer-author Edwin Vieira, quoted none other than Joseph Stalin in regard to their perceived “problem” of the Reagan appointee, Judge Anthony Kennedy. It would seem that Vieira feels that Stalin’s philosophy of “no man, no problem” would be an appropriate response when it comes to judges he feels are out of step with right-wing ideology. Impeachment just isn’t enough for these people, obviously they prefer harsher tactics — such as death.

But the most chilling thing about this little gathering of conservatives is that the audience laughed at the remarks! The same people who found Bush’s “trifecta” joke after 9/11 funny are now finding humor in the suggested assassination of federal judges.

In fact, judges are the latest in a string of targets put forth by Bush Co. in order to keep the gruel eaters from focusing on things that should trigger their flight or fight response. Tom DeLay is a classic example with his war on the judiciary in an attempt to keep people's eyes off his sleazy doings in the House. But the Republicans have given him a safety net besides. If DeLay is in danger of being smacked by the Ethics Committee, well then, we’ll just have to change those rules now, won’t we? And if the Democrats are going to use the filibuster to keep right-wing judges from getting an up or down vote, well, we’ll just change those rules too.

And if changing the rules isn’t enough, well now, we have Senate Majority Leader Frist teaming up with the religious wing-nuts in a public awareness campaign to publish ads depicting Democrats as being against “people of faith.” Even though Bush enjoys a higher acceptance rate of judicial appointees than his predecessors, the Republicans are calling in the God Squad in an attempt to get a handful of unqualified ideologues into the federal courts. God, help us all.

But all this hoopla, as I stated earlier, is a diversion from the real problems that we face as a country. Bush’s job approval ratings are in the toilet (45 percent last time I checked) and they should be. There have been no successes during this administration which benefit anyone except that richest one percent of folks so near and dear to the Republicans. Photo-op elections hide the reality behind the cameras that the administration and the cooperative media don’t want you to see. While we wage a pretend war on terrorists or whatever boogey-man is this week’s enemy, a very real war is being waged and won against America’s working (and non-working) masses. And yet there are still those among the masses who continue to feed on the watery-thin GOP gruel while willingly bending over for a spank after spank.

The world and all but 59 million people in this country seem to “get it.” Bush and the ultra-right are hurting all of us. Even those who support them. Our safety, our stability, our honor, our credibility and the very foundations established so long ago are at risk. We are a Republic (some say a Democracy) fast tracking on the way to becoming a Theocracy. And we join with our neighbors world-wide and wonder when America will come back or how much of America will be left to come back after these people are done with it.

Just what is it going to take for some conservatives to wake up? Just how bad do things have to get? When will they realize what is happening to them, their party and the country they say they love? And, once and for all, when will they stop asking for “more?”<

The above is copied and pasted here because it is the essence of what is wrong with America and the reason Tuesday Morning has gotten away with unethical crap until now. If you really pay attention you can discern the truth from the bullshit, and Tuesday Morning saying there is no morale problem in their stores is BLATANT BULLSHIT. Mark my words...they will lose more than thirty per cent of their managerial staff in the coming months. This campaign to expose the truth goes way beyond this. All corporations are feeding you BULLSHIT. The bottom line is money, and in order to make money in this world you have to bullshit, lie, and generally manipulate your customers. Corporations have gone way beyond ethical standards to make money. Now we get down to the core of it...the government is playing those same cards....they think they have to lie and bullshit you to get what they want.
Now, I want each and every one of you to get extremely pissed off and tell it like it is. We are 250,000,000 million strong in America. Add to that the low to middleclass in other countries and you get a significant majority. Tell your leaders that business as usual is OVER. We, as citizens of this world, want everything to go our way, not the way of a few arrogant elite who don't have a clue how to play nice in OUR SANDBOX. If they can't, get out and leave us alone. America, Love It Or Leave It! But, above all else, leave it! Take your wealth with you, but get out. We don't need the bull any longer. There is only a few making this life very difficult for the many and it's time for a new beginning.

Second Contact

Yes, it's official. My internet is off, yet I write to you from my kitchen...ah, a resourceful individual. I run two hundred feet of ethernet cable to a neighbors kitchen router and, voila, back on the internet. The drawback is my main e-mail is gone so it's official... enolan4208@excite.com.com , leave off the last .com to e-mail me direct. By the way, Anonymous can send me pictures through excite.com address and I can post on this blog just for haha's, and maybe a little embarrassment to a certain company...wink wink. They must not contain compromising situations for individuals, such as photos of illegal activities by individuals. These cannot be posted here in public and I won't so don't send them, but that overstocked back room, truck with cartons falling out, boxes in the aisles while store is open for business...those are legal if tastefully done. Not to embarrass, just prove once and for all what this is all about. This is about employees being taken care of by the very company they work for without a lot of BS and lies. The employees could care less about that sixteen per cent return on investment that the shareholders enjoy, plus their respective high salaries and high lifestyle. They just do not want to be treated like second-class citizens while giving first-class service. And the last point is no retail company can survive if they don't spend up front...meaning in the very stores that they sell their wares in. You have made the import end of Tuesday Morning work efficiently, now spend the money in the stores. Get rid of the expendable location syndrome, please!

Ha, Code Of Conduct

Code Of Conduct, audited markdowns, being told it's your fault for whatever happened in your store...THE PEOPLE IN TUESDAY MORNING CORPORATE are now in for a ride. They are denying responsibility for their own stores. I could see if this was a franchise operation where each store manager actually owned their store, but this has gone far enough. I call for the resignation of Kathleen Mason and Michael Marchetti from Tuesday Morning Corp and any ties to the Board Of Directors of Tuesday Morning. Your campaign of FEAR being beset on innocent people in your stores has to end here and now.
Each and every store is micromanaged by a Zone Manager, who in turn is delegating authority to the Regional Managers. The Zones and Regionals give out orders that border on the psychotic to the stores that are under their control. These orders are sometimes 'head scratchers' and some are down-right undecypherable. These orders are sent down from corporate to the zones, then passed on to the regionals, who in turn adapt the orders to fit their individual personalities. What a scary system that is. Then there are the orders that come direct from corporate to the stores. These are the fun ones. They are worded so simply that they all get a laugh from whomever reads them. The jokes are that corporate is in Texas and with all that space there's a lot of hot air and it's passed on to the stores.
Tuesday Morning Corp has not addressed any of this. They are the heads and all other opinions are mute. The boycott is slowly taking hold...not bad for a word of mouth campaign. Yes, I'll admit the economy is suspect, but TM "should be" doing as good as WalMart, whom they so admire. But they are not. They are losing ground because their employees are not rubes but thinking, working individuals that see the wrongs being done. And this message is not just for Tuesday Morning but for the entire world. This has to stop now and it is up to you, the individual. If they think 'they' know better, don't buy their product. It is time to halt this progression toward control by corporations. IT IS SO EASY TO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCT. Do you need that VCR today? No, you don't. The only thing you need is food, and if they take that away, their end is insured. There are maybe one hundred connected people in the world running the show. Governments do not rule any longer, it is money and the elite bankers who control, and no matter how far fetched that may sound it is the truth. How else could a mere company like Tuesday Morning think it was so arrogant as to abuse it's help then blame them (the help) for all the company's shortcomings. Yes, I know this sounds like some lunatics ravings, but how else can you explain the direction of our world. Supposedly this is a Democracy, but can you call your congressman and change policy or have him work toward your well being...not in this lifetime, or the next. They (your congressman) are looking out for corporations where the MONEY is. Corporations donate a wealth of money to advance the careers and legislation of their favorite candidates, who are elected because someone spent a lot of money on their campaigns for TV ads and full page newspaper ads.
Look, I know this is going away from the original idea here, but if you, as blue collar workers, are to be successful in America we have to change the 'top'. Please, in the next election, VOTE OUT all incumbents. Let them know that business as usual is done. BOYCOTT TUESDAY MORNING and WalMart.

Same Stuff, Different Day

Well, it seems the corporates weren't going around to see about morale, they were going around to express their authority. They spent three minutes in a store of a friend, berated her, then said "Don't talk to her, she's leaving". Now this friend is a middleaged woman who worked for TM for years. They are white washing all of this and still claiming that corporate TM is perfect and that all the problems are caused by the stores. These are little minds, folks. They have no originality nor a clue on how to run a company. Now is the time for all the customers to find out just what kind of company they are shopping from. You know...sweat shop mentality. "I'm the boss and do as I say." The same dude is in charge, yet they think they can change the company by getting rid of their "troublemakers". The troublemaker is one Michael Marchetti who seems to have a Napoleon syndrome. Sorry, Kathleen, you didn't heed the important information given here as to the answers to your problem. You think that by sweeping things under the rug you win. Now we will show you just what a boycott can do for your bottom line. You also think that by taking Madison-Dearborn out of the picture that you win, but the same names are at the top....you lose!!!

Asleep At The Wheel

Please pay attention to news regarding the nominating process for Federal judges and what Congress is doing to get their pet judges there. If this country does not wake up to what is being done to middleclass America it will be way too late. We are being taken for a ride and no one is paying attention. My source for this little essay is MSNBC, The New York Times, The LA Times, among many other reputable news sources. This is not some paranoiac conspiracy theory. We are in deep water without a paddle and no one is coming to our rescue. We need to rescue us. A constitutional amendment to limit congress to NOT INCLUDE LAWYERS. Do lawyers lie to get their clients off. YES. Most of our members of Congress are LAWYERS.
An example of Congressional hanky-panky would be House Majority Leader Tom DeLay excepting $620,000 from the Credit Card Industry and Banking Industry, then sponsoring legislation to pass a new bankruptcy bill that will put BILLIONS of more DOLLARS into the credit-card and banking 'corporates' hands.
Or is it that I'm the only one in America not asleep at the wheel?

Let's Do This Again...

In case you missed the point, go to this web site. http://www.iww.org/organize/
Read what it says there, then call, write, or whatever...just get in touch with them and ask for help. You can call from each store. This doesn't have to be throughout the chain. After enough stores sign up it snowballs from there.
As we speak there is a team of Corporates going around store to store checking on morale. If you don't speak up, shame on you! Don't just tell them what they want to hear. This is your chance to show these people once and for all, things aren't right in Oz.

A Comment About A Comment

>>Oh, give me a break. "Most bankruptcy is due to medical emergencies, etc???"

Please, you need to grow up.<< To the "wise" person who wrote this, no you grow up. I didn't write that, I quoted it from another source, which I identified. And if you are part of the credit card lobby, get a life and don't troll. The point of the quote was that all those so called educated, elite Americans are now looking down on the 'middleclass' and having laws passed to benefit businesses at the expense of the people who are paying for that very same government. How much taxes did your company pay last year, oh, wise one.
Now, back to the topic here. Tuesday Morning. Have anything useful to say about that?

Important Message

This entry is from an e-mail I received from MoveOn.org, the next best thing to the actual Democratic Party. And, no, we're not going political with this blog, just showing everyone the direction this country is headed...the fight is bigger than Tuesday Morning, but Tuesday Morning is a good start in my book!!!

>>Dear MoveOn member,

A great majority of the families that declared bankruptcy last year did so because of a major life crisis—huge medical bills or layoffs—that threw them into a spiral of debt. Now, after a multi-year, multi-million dollar lobbying effort by credit card companies, Congress is poised Wednesday to approve a sweeping change in bankruptcy law that would make it impossible for folks who have been dealt a bad hand to get a clean start. The law actually gives credit card companies new ways to seize your home and car if you get into financial trouble.

After accepting more than $620,000 from the lending industry to his various PACs, Republican Majority Leader Rep. Tom DeLay has scheduled the vote for Wednesday. The change in bankruptcy laws is a clear example of whose interests the Republicans in Congress are serving. But, in a betrayal of middle class families, as many as 90 Democrats may also vote the wrong way. Both Republicans and Democrats need to know that millions of us oppose this bonanza for corporate contributors that hurts families who are the victims of circumstances beyond their control.<<

Call your Congressperson TODAY...tell them you are not happy with the government being in the hip pocket of corporate America. And tell them you are opposed to the passage of this bill...are we going to let this happen in America?

In order to change America, we're all going to have to become activists.

Contact!

Just in case anyone has to contact me in real time, my AOL Instant Messenger name is enolan705. I am enolan4208 on Yahoo Messenger, and if I lose my internet, which is possible because we are still under the influence of Tuesday Morning's gauntlet, I can be reached by e-mail at enolan4208@excite.com.com...just leave off the last .com . And please, if you think this blog has outgrown the effort, let me know. Otherwise I'll keep posting info and fighting for better working conditions.

Hmmmm.

Comments stopped on both blogs over a week ago. Does this mean you all are happy, or is this the lull before the next storm? If any one is being threatened about posting on blogs, they cannot stop you as long as you are not disparaging Tuesday Morning. You can post your observations and concerns, just don't name names. Leave that to me...lol! Believe me, I have checked on the laws and we still have a First Amendment Right to freedom of speech. That hasn't been taken away from us yet, although corporations would like you to think that. And do you really think TM has gotten their act together in a matter of weeks? They are extremely nervous because you employees have seen through their shell game. My suggestion is for some brave hearts to contact a union and get the ball rolling, especially after reading that TM thinks they have good employee relations and they have announced it to the world in their filing with the SEC. I cannot do that for you because I am a former employee. They (the union) are willing to help organize and guide you but you must make the first step, and I don't think Tuesday Morning has cleared up the employee problems when they are so proud of their low budget store locations and low operating costs of those stores. I said wolf in sheeps clothing and I meant it. Please let me know what's happening out there!

Trying To Clean Up Their Act?

This is from 10K Form filed with SEC on 3/9/05 and can be found at http://yahoo.brand.edgar-online.com/fetchFilingFrameset.aspx?FilingID=3526667&Type=HTML be prepared, it's long reading.
Attractive Store Level Economics. We have strong store level economics due to our low store operating expenses and the low initial investment required to open new stores. Our destination-oriented retail format allows us to open stores in a wide range of locations, resulting in attractive lease rates compared to those of other retailers. In addition to our low real estate costs, we maintain low operating and depreciation costs due to our no-frills, self-service format. Because we use low cost store fixtures and have low pre-opening costs, our new stores require a low initial investment and have historically generated a very attractive return on investment in their first full year.

And a little more... Store Layout. Our opportunistic site selection and no-frills approach to presenting merchandise allow us to use a wide variety of space configurations. The size of our stores generally ranges from 6,000 to 15,000 square feet and averaged approximately 9,200 square feet in 2004. We have designed our stores to be functional, with little emphasis placed upon fixtures and leasehold improvements. We display all merchandise at each store by type and size on racks or counters, and we maintain a minimum inventory in stockrooms.
Store Operations. We operate our stores during periodic sales events, each of which lasts from four to five weeks. We are generally closed for the first few weeks of January and July, which are traditionally weak months for retailers. We have increased the frequency of shipments of new merchandise during a sales event, which has resulted in improved efficiency of merchandise receiving and restocking activities at our stores. We have implemented initiatives to enhance the process by which merchandise is unloaded at the store and moved to the selling floor and we have increased our internal training program for store managers. Previously, new store managers attended our training program upon their hire or promotion. Now, each store manager receives on-going training on an annual basis through attending one of our monthly training sessions. We believe that this on-going training is a critical component to the success of our store management.
Store Management. Each store has a manager who is responsible for recruiting, training and supervising store personnel and assuring that the store is managed in accordance with our established guidelines and procedures. Store managers are full-time employees. We have increased our field management at the region and zone level to support and improve consistency of execution at our stores. When sales events are not in progress, employees review store inventory and supervise restocking activities in preparation for the next sales event. We employ temporary employees at each Tuesday Morning store to serve as cashiers and to assist in stocking during sales events. These temporary employees generally return to work in subsequent sales events, reducing the need for new hiring prior to each sales event. Typically, we employ more temporary employees during the first few days of a sales event, when customer traffic is highest.
Members of our management visit selected stores while sales are in progress to review inventory levels and presentation, personnel performance, expense controls, security and adherence to company procedures. In addition, regional managers periodically meet with senior management to review store policies and to discuss purchasing, merchandising and advertising strategies for future sales events.
Employees At March 1, 2005, we employed approximately 1,800 persons on a full-time basis and approximately 6,000 individuals on a part-time basis. Our employees are not represented by any union. We have not experienced any work stoppage due to labor disagreements and we believe that our employee relations are good.
Self-Insurance Reserves — We have agreed to bear a portion of the annual cost to insure for workers’ compensation, general liability and medical claims. Amounts in excess of the designated risk levels are covered 100% by our insurance providers. Workers compensation claims are generally resolved within a one to three year period, but can remain open and active for periods approaching seven years. We establish reserves for the potential remaining exposure on these claims based upon historical claims experience and the use of actuarial estimates of losses from such claims. Our estimated reserves may not be adequate if claims activity is higher than estimated or costs of medical care increase beyond what is anticipated.

Capital expenditures, principally associated with new store openings and distribution center systems enhancements, were $23.0 million, $17.3 million and $34.3 million for 2004, 2003 and 2002, respectively. During 2004 and 2003, capital expenditures were primarily for new store openings, material handling equipment in our distribution center and corporate office improvements. During 2002, we spent $17.0 million to purchase and expand a warehouse that we previously leased and $4.1 million to purchase an office building for our corporate headquarters. In 2005, we expect to spend approximately $18 million for capital expenditures, primarily for new store openings. Capital expenditures will be financed with funds generated from operations and borrowings under our revolving credit facility.

(If the part above highlighted in blue is true, please post a comment here...maybe things are changing, but beware of wolves in sheeps clothing.)
There is a lot of info in this article on Yahoo by Edgars.com. Worth the read. A small 'editors' note here...this is a forward looking prospectus, meaning none of it might happen for reasons stated and or unstated. A little getting off the hook essay.

This Is A Call To Any Union That Will Represent These People.

It is time to call in the union. Enough is enough. As anyone can plainly see, these women and men who manage the stores for Tuesday Morning need help. There has been something in the works behind the scenes since I started this blog last year and it has had enough time to bring down the hammer. It has to happen now because TM has been reading this blog and countering anything discussed. There had been a lot of mention about Larry, so now he's gone, but the arrogant executives of Tuesday Morning are not really talented people. They are overachievers with no real idea of how to correct problems. Their agenda is to make money for their pocket and the investors. It is becoming well known in the retail world that this company is not good to work for and I imagine if the turnover rate for store level employees were known it would make those same top officers run for cover. And I hope you all reading here are not offended but this fight goes way beyond Tuesday Morning, although they will be the first casualty, or at least as it is structured now.
Look, I know people have to eat, and have a roof, and good healthcare, but the way business corporations are evolving, they have run out of ways to expand the bottom line without resorting to illegal and/or unethical practices. Illegal would be telling an officer of the company to fire that woman, I don't like her. Out and out discrimination because it was "that woman", a protected class. Unethical is when you have a distribution system in place that causes injuries because the system is not designed for the heavy product shipped causing these employees to strain and injure shoulders, backs, or just plain become worn out because corporate does not care.
So, let's recap here. Madison-Dearborn is looking the other way and letting Tuesday Morning Corp do whatever it wants with the assumption that nothing will come back to haunt the investors. Tuesday Morning Corp, with it's chauvanist, over-egoed top dog, is gaining that investor confidence by cutting payroll so low (I had 10% of sales for payroll in my 6400 sq. ft. shoes store) , around 3% of sales, but this in turn causes morale in the stores to get so low that the store managers are getting desperate, leaving Tuesday Morning open to union organizers. On top of that is the Workmans Comp trip. It would be very interesting to see if anyone could figure out when this type of behavior first surfaced at Tuesday Morning. I'll bet we wouldn't be surprised that it began when the Mason-Marchetti team came to town. All the managers were commenting that a woman in charge is what was needed. Boy were they wrong! She is just a figure head that has her name all over the place. Director of this, chairperson of that, on the board of that company over there. She has no time to run a company so she has her lacky (Mr. Ego) doing the dirty work in the name of the investors. Nice and neat. The scary part is people like this rotate around in the retail world stagnating true innovation. Business as usual. And if you go back and read the entire two blogs from the beginning, I've been saying this in one way or another since the beginning.
Now, if all six-hundred stores (minus the few who like this crap) wrote a letter describing the conditions in their stores and any negative dealings with TM Corp, and mail it to Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC Three First National Plaza Suite 3800 Chicago, Illinois 60602 USA , things would change. It's either that, join the class action lawsuit, or ask for union representation. The union is interested in this problem but they have to be invited in. I had spoken to a representive of the AFL-CIO while I was working at TM but at that time there was not all this public knowledge about this corporation. They would come in gladly now but must be invited by the employees it will represent. Just another thing to think about.

It Just Gets Better!!

Could it be Mike's girlfriend is the new Zone? Heard a rumor like that last night and wanted it kicked around. Seems that way from the latest comment by an Anonymous under my Welcome entry. If this is true this company is stooping lower on the unethical scale. This action would show just how paranoid this guy is and how far he'll stoop to push his authority. If this is in fact the case this campaign will stop mouthing off about Tuesday Morning Corp and go directly after Madison-Dearborn because they set the agenda and this would mean they condone this behavior. I'm sure the individual investors would just love this kind of news about where their money is going...to finance injury to store level employees. Of course the board is saying "Hell with them, they're peons and they don't count. We're here for the investors." The Board of Directors of Boeing Corporation fired their CEO because he was dating one of the executives of the company, who in turn was also fired.

Welcome...

I see the scapegoat is gone (yes, Larry Cornell), now for the regional under him please. My phone has been ringing off the hook (cell phone...we had the landline shut off to see if only cell phone as main phone will work...apologies to those that have tried to call number posted below) to talk about this small bit of news. Does it mean Tuesday Morning is paying attention, or is it just one of those things?

A welcome to Sheri Rhine as new Zone. Please don't be a Larry clone, and if you are doing MM's bidding you will go down with the ship. WORD JUST IN:...She's worse than Larry so be prepared!!!!! Does Tuesday Morning Corp think a shuffle of personnel is going to solve their problems or quiet this call for help down? NO! What is going to happen is a flurry of lawsuits in various states being consolidated into one big class action lawsuit...most injured were women. This crap of businesses having to resort to unethical means to further investors bank accounts has to stop. There has to be a limit to what a corporation can get away with.

Someone's Gone!

The used car salesman (the smooth talker) is gone. Means the line is getting shorter to a better company. That zone (the northeast) is now being run by a woman. Someone is wising up in the corporate office, but let's see if some publicity will move things along. Stay tuned folks, it's getting better by the day.
